Birchwood Recreation & Shooting  park is a non-profit corporation run by a Board of Directors that is elected by the membership.  The park is located 2.5 miles from the Glenn Highway on the North Birchwood Exit, adjacent to the Birchwood Airport.

Established in 1957 on 70 acres, the park has expanded to 92 acres and has become Alaska's largest shooting facility.  Currently, the club includes 8 rifle and pistol ranges from 7 yards to 300 meters, with 50 covered firing points and solid benches.  The shotgun range has 12 trap, 4 skeet, 2 five-stand, and a 100-target sporting clay range.  Twelve of these fields are lighted for night shooting.  All ranges are available for members and public shooting during business hours or can be reserved for club by scheduling in advance with the range officer.

The park offers RV parking for 24 campers on a first come first served basis.  The RV Park has water and electrical hook-ups.

*Due to insurance requirements, all shooters must be members.  As a requirement for membership, each person will be provided with Birchwood Recreation Shooting Park safety and range rules.  Prior to shooting, each member must acknowledge the he/she has read and understands the posted rules.
